#JabRef got enriched with #LLM features. Check out the blog post at https://blog.jabref.org/2024/08/21/AI-chatting/. A big shoot out to #langchain4j (https://github.com/langchain4j/langchain4j), jvm-openai (https://github.com/StefanBratanov/jvm-openai), and Deep #Java Library (#DJL) (https://github.com/deepjavalibrary/djl). #OpenAI #Mistral #HuggingFace - and the whole #opensource community to be open and supportive! #BibliographyManager #BibTeX #texlatex #academia #AcademicMastodon #science #research
@jabref how does the LLM access a paper? Is its content transferred to the so-called AI provider, or does it somehow access the paper from the publisher?
@Cs137 Before any use, the user is asked to agree to the privacy policies of the AI provider. Thus, we shift the responsibility to check whether the PDF may shared with an AI provider to the user. The user themselves can search for (possibly) open access PDFs using JabRef using the "Find full text document online" functionality described at https://docs.jabref.org/collect/add-pdfs-to-an-entry.
